A Double Celebration of Service and Faith: Our Parish Honours TUDM’s 67th Anniversary and Fr. Mitchel’s 31 Years of Priesthood
Kuala Lumpur – Sunday, July 20, 2025, was a day of profound significance and heartfelt celebration at our parish as we joyfully marked two remarkable anniversaries during our Bahasa Mass. The congregation gathered not only to honour the 67th Anniversary of the Malaysian Royal Air Force (Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia – TUDM) but also to celebrate the 31st Sacerdotal Anniversary of our beloved Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Mitchel Joseph.
The Mass took on a particularly solemn and inspiring tone with the distinguished presence of personnel from the Malaysian Royal Air Force. Dressed in their immaculate full uniforms, the TUDM team participated actively in every aspect of the Liturgy, from readings to offerings, adding a deep sense of honour and national pride to our worship. Their presence was a powerful reminder of the dedication and sacrifice of our servicemen and women who tirelessly protect our nation’s skies. We offered special prayers for their continued safety and well-being as they serve our country.
Adding to the joy of the day, our vibrant Bahasa-speaking community took the opportunity to surprise Rev. Fr. Mitchel Joseph as he commemorated his 31st year in the priesthood. For over three decades, Father Mitchel has been a beacon of faith, wisdom, and compassionate leadership, tirelessly shepherding our flock and touching countless lives with his ministry.
Following the Mass, the celebrations continued with a special cake-cutting ceremony. Two magnificent cakes stood side-by-side: one beautifully adorned to mark TUDM’s 67th anniversary, symbolizing our gratitude and respect for their service, and another dedicated to Father Mitchel, a token of our profound appreciation for his 31 years of unwavering priestly dedication. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, camaraderie, and immense gratitude as parishioners congratulated Father Mitchel and acknowledged the TUDM personnel.
This unique dual celebration truly exemplified the spirit of unity and service that binds our community. It was a beautiful occasion to reflect on the blessings of faith, the importance of national service, and the selfless commitment of those who lead us spiritually and protect us physically.
