A Blessed Harvest of Unity and Joy: Good Shepherd Church Celebrates KAGAPE 2025!
Setapak, Kuala Lumpur – On Saturday, July 13, 2025, the community of Good Shepherd Church in Setapak came together in vibrant spirit to celebrate its annual Festival of Harvest, affectionately known as KAGAPE. This special day was a beautiful testament to faith, gratitude, and the enduring bonds of Christian fellowship.
For our community, KAGAPE (often derived from words signifying harvest, bounty, and mutual support) is more than just a festival; it’s a heartfelt celebration of God’s abundant blessings throughout the year. It’s a time to acknowledge the spiritual and material “harvests” we have received, and to strengthen the ties that bind us as one family in Christ. It reminds us that just as we share in the fruits of the earth, we also share in God’s grace and support one another in our faith journey.
The celebration commenced with a powerful and moving Unity Mass, where parishioners from all walks of life gathered as one Body of Christ. The Liturgy was a profound reminder of our shared faith and the central role of the Eucharist in drawing us closer to God and to each other.
Following the spiritual nourishment of the Mass, the festivities continued with a joyful fellowship session. The church grounds buzzed with laughter, conversations, and the happy sounds of parishioners enjoying each other’s company. It was a wonderful opportunity for old friends to reconnect and new connections to be forged, reinforcing the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines our Good Shepherd family. From sharing delicious food to engaging in lively activities, the afternoon was truly a display of united parishioners having loads of fun.
The success and heartwarming spirit of the KAGAPE celebration would not have been possible without the immense dedication and hard work of countless volunteers, and especially the Gereja Good Shepherd KUBM team. Their tireless efforts in planning, organizing, and executing the event ensured that everyone felt welcomed and blessed.
As the day concluded, a profound sense of gratitude filled the air. The KAGAPE celebration at Good Shepherd Church, Setapak, was not just an event; it was a vibrant affirmation of community, faith, and the joy found in coming together as one. May God continue to bless our parish with unity and abundant harvests in the years to come!
