Children’s Day 2025
The inaugural Good Shepherd Church Children’s Day was celebrated on 20th January 2025 where parishioners aged 6 to 12 were treated to a day of fun, entertainment, and enjoyment. Children are a source of joy not only to their parents and families but also to our human family and for the parish community. This celebration will contribute to nurture awareness of the importance of childcare and child protection.
In addressing the 70 children present, parish priest Rev Fr. Mitchel Anthony Joseph reiterated that this day is curated specially for them as they are special in God’s eyes, as the Bible teaches us, and Jesus often showed us. The day started with a special children’s Mass where Fr Mitchel reminded us that each of us has a ‘white wolf’ and a ‘black wolf’ within us depicting our good and the bad nature. We must consciously and consistently choose to feed our ‘white wolf’ by participating on Mass, prayers, rosary, reading the Bible and performing works of mercy amongst others.
A scrumptious breakfast was served after Mass followed by a day of fun, games, and fellowship. The inflatable castle and the giant bubbles were the crowd favorites followed by the clown handing out balloons. There were also many station games that kept the kids entertained till lunch. The celebration brought kids from all language groups together in a joyful spirit of camaraderie and togetherness. Fr Mitchel, the catechist and teenagers who were manning the booths also reminisced their childhood memories by trying their hands at the interesting games available i.e. football goal kick, golf putt, mini race car, frog hop, tin can alley, shoot the shark and plinko.
This day will surely be etched in the memory of the children for a long time.
